The Smart Card Validator “DUALIS TV 1000” has been designed as a check-in-check-out terminal for easy and secure mounting in buses, light trains and trains.

The terminal can be used as a stand-alone terminal (off-line mode) or in on-line mode linked to the AVM onboard computer as well. The validator can process ISO 14443 Type A/B contact-less smart cards like Mifare Standard. The main function of the CICO terminal is checking smartcards, carrying out traffic calculation according to business rules and storing the transaction data. For automated fare collection systems with check-in/check-out function, auto load functionality can be included.
The embedded processor technology offers an optimum of efficiency with high memory capacity and very fast processing speed. As LINUX is used as operation system, the terminal provides an open software platform. To ensure a secure data communication up to 4 Secure Access Modules (SAM) are integrated. The card-transaction time is optimised according to card-type. Data transfer is possible by using Data Link RS-485, Ethernet or other customer’s specifications and for maintenance an infrared interface. Off-line data-transfer is also possible by using the USB interface. The USB interface is lockable and therefore easily accessible for service technicians.
The CICO terminal indicates optically via light signal and 5,7’’ TFT colour display the check-in/check-out transactions. Additionally an acoustic signal can be enabled by the staff in the administration system. In the operating mode the signals can be:

full entitlement to travel
entitled to travel under certain circumstances
not entitled to travel
